All schools in Kelantan ordered to halt outdoor activities as a precaution against the ongoing hot and dry weather conditions.

KOTA BHARU: All 595 schools across Kelantan have been instructed to suspend outdoor activities due to the ongoing hot and dry weather.

Kelantan Education Department director Siti Norina Muhamad said a notification letter was distributed to all schools.

The department is constantly monitoring temperature trends through the Meteorological Department.

Schools have been directed to postpone outdoor activities and visits to high-risk areas.

“If the temperature exceeds 37 degrees Celsius, learning sessions will be conducted via home-based teaching and learning (PdPR),” she said.

She added that if temperatures reach extreme levels, schools may be closed temporarily.

Siti Norina stated there is currently no need to implement PdPR sessions as the situation remains under control.

“However, we are constantly taking precautionary measures to ensure students are not exposed to the risk of heatstroke.”

She confirmed that so far, there have been no reports of students being affected by the heat.
