KEMABONG: The Kemabong Sub-District Office has officially received the completed Pekan Kemabong Murut Longhouse and Lansaran assets to provide a dedicated space for local community and cultural activities.
Coordinated by the Sabah Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) in close cooperation with the State Government, the facility was formally handed over on Wednesday.
Monitoring will continue throughout a 12-month Defect Liability Period (DLP) to ensure any identified defects are rectified promptly for the safety and comfort of users.
The completed second phase of the project includes the addition of a seminar room, recording room, handicraft room, and kiosks to support local artisans and drive cultural tourism.
The project aims to preserve Murut cultural heritage while generating economic opportunities for the rural Kemabong community.
