KENINGAU: Police have advised the public to remain calm and refrain from taking any action outside the law following the circulation of allegations involving fraudulent land sale transactions reportedly linked to several land brokers.
Deputy District Police Chief DSP Alizam Dalaman said the District Police Headquarters (IPD) has taken note of several social media posts containing allegations related to the case.
He said any claims of fraud should be left to the police to investigate in a professional, fair and thorough manner based on facts, evidence and the provisions of the law.
He added that individuals who believe they have been victims are encouraged to lodge a police report and extend their full cooperation throughout the investigation.
“The public is also advised not to engage in speculation or disseminate unverified information, as such actions could jeopardise investigations and disrupt public order,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He also assured that every report containing elements of a criminal offence would be investigated transparently, professionally and impartially, without favouring any party.
In this regard, the police urged all parties to respect the legal process and allow the authorities to carry out their investigations until completion.
He said the cooperation of all parties is greatly appreciated to ensure that public safety and order in the district continue to be maintained.
