Keven Schlotterbeck is feeling for his brother Nico whose World Cup campaign for Germany ended with a severe ankle injury in the second match.
Borussia Dortmund centre back Nico Schlotterbeck tore an ankle ligament on Saturday in the match against Ivory Coast and will reportedly be out of action for around two months.
Brother Keven, who plays for Bundesliga side Augsburg, was present in Toronto and said in his role as MagentaTV pundit that "it hurts a lot that the World Cup is over for him.
“Of course I’ve spoken to my brother but I’m going by what’s been reported in the media. I think it’s been going to be several months. “It doesn’t look all that rosy. I don’t want to give too much away; he can do that in his own time.”
Nico Schlotterbeck said in a short social media post that he would give injury details when he feels ready.
Keven Schlotterbeck added that the injury was "the crux for him and also for us as a family, because we would have liked to continue supporting him.
“Unfortunately, that’s the way it is now. The next World Cup is in four years’ time, and he can look forward to that. We’ll carry on.”
