TAMBUNAN: It is not true that the construction of the Kampung Sunsuron football field here has been abandoned.
Claims of Kg Sunsuron residents that the field was in poor condition and needed to be repaired was reported on Dec 23.
Tambunan Community Development Leader (UPPM) Alexius Kiob said his office received an application to upgrade the field from the Chairman of the Village Development and Development Committee (PJKKK) of Kampung Sunsuron in early 2023.
In the middle of the year, the UPPM, PJKKK Chairman and Mukim Developer Jaikoh Gabi visited the field.

Read more A month later, the UPPM together with the consultant visited and suggested upgrading the field and made a drawing on the proposed upgrade that is pending approval from Cabinet.
The residents, especially youths of Kg Sunsuron, requested that the field be upgraded immediately considering the need for sports facilities.
According to Jaikoh, there will be another visit to the field sometime this month but its construction date is still unclear.
