KOTA TINGGI – A married man wearing only his underwear was caught with a foreign female masseuse during a raid at a massage parlour in Bandar Penawar here at 10.45pm on Sunday.
The Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) said in a statement that the man, in his 30s, was found lying down while the Indonesian woman, also in her 30s, was sitting beside him.
It said the man worked in the district, while the Indonesian woman had been working as a masseuse at the premises for the past four months.
“The man lives alone in the district, renting a room, while his wife and child live in another state, about a three-hour journey away.
“He usually returns home once a week or once every two weeks, while the woman works as a masseuse at the premises,” it said.
During the inspection inside the room, enforcement officers found a single bed with a mattress and bedsheet, the man's clothing and several small bottles containing massage oil.
JAINJ said the premises was suspected of attracting customers through promotional advertisements on several apps, as well as regular customers who visited directly.
“A standard one-hour massage costs RM80, with additional charges for other services,” it said.
However, the man claimed he had gone there only for a regular massage to relieve body aches caused by work and denied seeking any additional services.
Both were detained on suspicion of committing khalwat (close proximity) under Section 27 of the Johor Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment. They will be charged at the Syariah Court for further action.
