The younger brother of Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has moved to Spain.
Jonathan Varane, a 20 year-old defensive midfielder, has been without a club after coming off contract at Lille this summer.
He has now signed for Segunda Division Sporting Gijon.
Varane spent last season in Ligue 2 on-loan with Rodez AF.
