KOTA KINABALU: PKR Kimanis branch Chief Niki Ramday has rejected media claims suggesting there were threats of sabotage or disputes over “parachute candidates” within PKR Sabah, describing such reports as misleading and baseless.

He clarified that the recent closed-door meeting among PKR branch leaders was a sincere and constructive effort to strengthen party unity and coordination ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election, not a revolt or protest against the leadership.

Niki said the meeting was attended by 14 branch chiefs and one deputy branch chief, with another four branch chiefs expressing support for the initiative.

He explained that the meeting took place in a respectful and mature atmosphere and focused on improving coordination and communication between the state and central leadership.

“The meeting did take place, but it was never about rejecting the leadership or planning any form of protest.

"There were no discussions about boycotting the party machinery or rejecting parachute candidates. Those reports are completely untrue.

“Our goal was to ensure that the voices of the grassroots in Sabah are heard and that the party machinery is better prepared for the upcoming election,” he added.

Niki said the meeting concluded with a joint resolution that will be submitted to PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim through the Election Director and Deputy President soon.

“We stand united behind the party’s leadership. There is no sabotage, no division, only commitment to strengthen the party and serve the people,” he said.
