A M’sian store staff wins praise after fetching an out-of-stock Spicy Crispy Chiki for a little girl despite handling a busy shift alone.
A convenience store staff member in Tanjung Malim has captured the hearts of Malaysians online after going the extra mile to help a customer and her young daughter, despite handling a hectic shift alone.
The heartwarming moment was shared by a mother in a viral Threads post, where she recounted her visit to the outlet on Feb 6 at about 6pm.
She said she had stopped by the store with her daughter, who was eager to get the Spicy Crispy Chiki.
However, the pair were initially told that the item was out of stock, leaving the child visibly disappointed and on the verge of tears.
What stood out to many was the response of the lone staff member on duty, who was reportedly managing both the cashier counter and hot meal preparations at the same time.
Instead of dismissing the request due to the rush, the staff member took the initiative to recheck the store.
Although a fresh stock delivery had just arrived and had yet to be moved to the kitchen area, the staff member went to look for it anyway.
Moments later, she returned with the Spicy Crispy Chiki, much to the delight of the child.
The mother said she was deeply touched by the staff member’s effort and willingness to help despite the heavy workload.
Based on the receipt, the name ZulriatulBaizu was listed, though she noted she was unsure whether it referred to the staff member herself or a colleague.
She added that she had prepared a small token of appreciation but chose not to approach the staff member as the counter remained crowded with customers.
In her post, the woman praised the staff member’s attitude, describing such dedication as rare in the food and beverage industry today.
She also thanked the convenience store for employing staff who genuinely care about customers.
“To the “adik” who helped us: Thank you for making my daughter’s day.
“May everything go well for you!” the post read.
The post has since resonated with many netizens, with readers echoing calls for the staff member to be recognised for her kindness, professionalism and exemplary customer service.
One netizen called ndianzkhr shared: “Aww, that’s so sweet. It really feels nice to be appreciated at work.
“Back when I worked in F&B, even small mistakes would quickly turn into complaints. People rarely praised us when we tried our best to give good service, even when we were busy and overwhelmed.”
“I’ll forward this to the person in charge, who will notify the store’s AM and the staff,” aeroestrides commented.
“Kudos! Let’s get used to celebrating unsung heroes so we know that humanity still exists and that they truly deserve recognition,” manulpink wrote.
