Buckingham Palace officials are thought to be keen to keep any reunion between King Charles and the Sussexes private, with reports suggesting they are mindful of potential photo opportunities.

When Queen Elizabeth met Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022, no photographs appeared to have been taken.

If such a photograph were to be captured with the King in 2026, it would mark the first time Archie and Lilibet's faces have been properly revealed since they were babies.

In addition, for the Sussexes, it would constitute significant publicity for their brand, The Times reported.

GB News has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

Harry acknowledged in a BBC interview last year that some relatives would never forgive him. "But I would love reconciliation with my family," he said. "There's no point in continuing to fight any more."

King Charles has extended an invitation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to stay at a royal residence during their planned summer visit to Britain, though the couple have not yet confirmed whether they will accept.

The offer comes as Prince Harry has indicated that he wishes to bring Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to his "homeland" this summer alongside Meghan.

Should such a reunion occur, it would mark the first time the monarch has seen his grandchildren in four years. The children's faces have remained largely hidden from public view since infancy. Buckingham Palace confirmed the accommodation offer last week.

The Sussexes are thought to be still working out their UK programme, meaning practical details, including where they will stay, remain unresolved.

Security remains a central obstacle to any family reunion. Harry has maintained that he cannot bring his children to Britain without police protection, stating he would be unable to do so "in good conscience."

The Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as Ravec, is now preparing to advise an independent chair on whether the duke should receive round-the-clock armed police escorts.

Harry lost his Court of Appeal challenge to have his protection reinstated, and subsequently alleged his father could resolve the matter by "stepping aside, allowing the experts to do what is necessary."

"There is a lot of control and ability in my father's hands," Harry claimed. "Ultimately, this whole thing could be resolved through him."

Queen Camilla is expected to keep her distance from any encounter with the Sussexes. Harry labelled her "dangerous" and called her "a villain" while promoting his autobiography.

According to The Times, she will probably remain at Ray Mill House, her Gloucestershire residence.

The duke has reportedly indicated that Sandringham would be a welcome option for accommodation, noting that Charles found space on the Norfolk estate for his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Sussexes' former residence, Frogmore Cottage, remains unoccupied six years after their departure.

Harry's visit will most likely take place before the Royal Family's traditional summer retreat to Scotland, avoiding any suggestion he might join the wider family at Balmoral.
