KIULU: The construction of the Kiulu Sub-District Secretariat Building is expected to be fully completed by mid-2027, said Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
He said site preparation works are actively underway, following his recent visit and briefing from the project contractor on the early construction phase.
“The secretariat has been long-awaited by residents and will play a vital role in strengthening local administration and government service delivery,” he said.
“It will also stand as a symbol of progress, allowing more efficient management of the sub-district and expediting other development projects in the area.”Also present during the visit were Sub-District Officer Leprus Esuva Giswa and Tuaran Public Works Department (JKR) District Engineer Farini Awang.
The Kiulu Sub-District, established in early 2019, currently operates from a temporary office behind the OKK Rampas Community Hall.
Joniston said the new building forms part of a broader plan to enhance the town centre and surrounding areas through infrastructure upgrades, improved public amenities, and support for local economic activities.
In line with that, he also met grassroots leaders to discuss election preparedness and review the progress of ongoing development initiatives.
He said that project continuity is key to ensuring lasting benefits for residents.
“Continuity is crucial — projects that bring benefits should not be left incomplete.
What has been planned and implemented must carry on so this sub-district can continue advancing as a well-organised, progressive, and competitive rural community,” he said.
