Kota Kinabalu: Several roads across the city will be closed in stages from Aug 27 to 29 and again on Aug 31 to facilitate the upcoming state-level National Day and Sabah Day celebrations.
Organising chairman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said traffic arrangements are being planned alongside Kota Kinabalu City Hall and the police, with special consideration given to motorists and hotel guests travelling to and from the airport.
Roads will be closed for preparations from Aug 27 to 29, followed by further closures on Aug 31 during the morning National Day programme and the Sabah Day celebration at night.
Authorities are preparing for a massive turnout, following last year's event which drew an estimated 30,000 to 40,000 people to each of the morning and evening segments.
Members of the public are urged to cooperate with traffic instructions to ensure smooth movement, while specific road closures and timing details can be found in the official advisory issued by the authorities.
