KOTA KINABALU: The launch of the KK Hop-On Hop-Off (HoHo) City Tour marks a new chapter for Sabah’s tourism sector, said Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew in a speech delivered by her Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.

Meanwhile, Joniston said the double-decker service would offer visitors a new way to explore Kota Kinabalu while enhancing the city’s appeal as a tourism hub.

He explained that the carefully planned route covers 17 stops, including major landmarks such as Yayasan Sabah, the City Mosque, the Sabah International Convention Centre, and Tanjung Aru Beach.

Mayor Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah described the launch as a proud moment for Kota Kinabalu, noting that the service would support the city’s vision of being a world-class and sustainable destination.

KK HoHo Chairman Datuk Tan Kok Liang said two buses with a 60-seat capacity each will operate daily from 9am to 6pm.

He said commentary is available in six languages, and tickets can be purchased online or at designated counters, allowing tourists to hop on or off freely throughout the day.

Tan added that the initiative is expected to benefit local businesses along the route and become an iconic attraction showcasing the city’s culture, heritage and modern lifestyle.
