Kota Kinabalu: State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew officially launched the Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah-MM2H) One-Stop Centre at Sutera Avenue, here, Thursday.

Speaking at the event, she said the move was a significant step in making Sabah more accessible and attractive for international residents.

“The Sabah-MM2H programme has its own ‘home’ now to facilitate the processing of applications and all businesses related to it.

“This One-Stop Centre will streamline services, reduce bureaucracy and provide greater transparency by consolidating the efforts of key agencies such as the State Government,  Immigration Department, Royal Malaysia Police and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac),” she said.

Liew, who is also Chairman of the Sabah-MM2H Committee, thanked all officers, agencies and partners who have worked tirelessly to realise this initiative.

“May this one-stop centre serve as an effective platform to boost participation in the programme towards achieving greater economic growth and opportunities for Sabah,” she added.

The Minister reiterated that the Sabah-MM2H programme is designed to attract foreign residents who have the potential to bring in long-term investments, spend locally and contribute positively to Sabah’s economy and society, while enjoying the privilege of making Sabah their second home.

“Through this programme, we anticipate positive impacts across the board, from real estate, tourism, healthcare and education to local businesses. This in turn will create jobs, generate investment and promote cultural exchange, apart from yielding benefits that will strengthen Sabah’s economy and enrich our communities,” she said.

Among those present at the launch were Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment (KePKAS), Datuk Josie Lai, Deputy Permanent Secretary II Datin Dr Cleopatra Asing, Secretary of State Home Affairs & Research Office (Chief Minister’s Department), Datuk Awang Shahminan Datuk Haji Awang Sahari, Sabah Immigration Director Datuk Shah Siti Saleha Habib Yusof, Sabah Special Branch Deputy Chief ACP Mohd Azizul Rosun Khan who represented Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun, Chairman of Sri Pelancongan Sabah Ken Pan Ying On, and Sabah-MM2H Committee members.
