KUALA LUMPUR city hall (DBKL) has completed repair works on a section of road affected by a localised subsidence near Masjid India, with Jalan Masjid India reopened to traffic at 6 p.m. on Monday after being closed earlier as a safety measure.
In its statement, DBKL said investigations confirmed that the subsidence occurred in a confined area, suggesting a disturbance to the structural stability of the road pavement.
“DBKL will continue to conduct close monitoring as well as carry out further inspections and scanning at the location and surrounding areas,” the statement said.
The city authority reiterated that public safety remains its utmost priority and extended appreciation to all parties for their cooperation and compliance with safety directives during the restoration work.
The incident was detected at 8.39 a.m. on Monday along Jalan Bonus, in front of Bombay Jewellery. As a precaution, the road was temporarily closed from Lorong Masjid India 4 to the affected area to facilitate safety assessments and repair operations.
Following the report, response teams from DBKL, Air Selangor, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) were dispatched to conduct preliminary investigations and evaluate the structural risks in the vicinity. - November 11, 2025
