A reckless display of fireworks in the middle of a busy road near Taman Sentosa ended with two individuals being detained by the authorities.
The incident, which occurred around 2 pm on Jalan Shahbudin 29, was captured on video and widely shared on social media. A 26-year-old lady driver, who witnessed the two individuals playing with fireworks in the middle of the road, confronted them, urging them to stop their dangerous antics.
The video begins with the woman scolding the pair for their irresponsible behavior. However, instead of complying, the situation escalated when one of the individuals placed a firework on top of her car in an apparent attempt to intimidate her. Fortunately, the firework was removed moments later, and the woman drove off unharmed. However, the individuals proceeded to ignite the firework shortly after her departure.
The woman lodged a police report later that evening at the South Klang District Police Department, detailing the incident. The police confirmed receiving the report at approximately 8:06 pm and acted promptly. The two individuals involved were detained the same day.
The authorities have reminded the public to act responsibly when handling fireworks, emphasizing the importance of public safety. Reckless behavior involving fireworks not only endangers lives but also disrupts public order.
