Premier League underachievers Liverpool look set for a significant overhaul of a key area of their team next season.
The Reds have struggled to make their mark in all competitions this term, despite a few impressive results along the way.
Jurgen Klopp's team, who held table toppers Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at the weekend, are outside of the top four at present.
There was a hint of new arrivals to come in the summer, particularly to revamp the midfield.
After the Arsenal game, manager Klopp stated: "We need players, we cannot go with only three midfielders into a season. We count on them [teenagers Harvey Elliot and Stefan Bajcetic] but that does not mean we will not have a look in the summer.
"The challenge for us with the changes we have made now or over the next few years we have always replaced a sensational player or formation, because the boys are just that good. That is how it is but that doesn't mean we don't have to make changes."
