NBA champions the New York Knicks have accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to visit the White House, Knicks owner James Dolan told USA Today late on Wednesday.
The details are still being worked out but this will be the first time during Trump's two terms in office that an NBA champion has attended the White House.
The previous five champions in the Trump era always turned down the invitation, as have other sports teams due to Trump's politics. Under previous presidents, refusals were rare.
Trump, born and raised in New York, was recently booed by fans at a Knicks NBA Finals game.
