Korean firm expands Clark project

SOUTH Korean investor JnH Philippines Development is expanding its P840-million mixed-use project at Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) with new pool villas and three towers, the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) said over the weekend.

An amended lease agreement was signed April 28 by CDC president and CEO Agnes Devanadera and JnH Philippines president Lee Sangte.

The revised contract cuts construction time from 5 years to 30 months, with phased delivery allowing parts of the project to open early on a 17,373‑square‑meter property along C.M. Recto Highway in CFZ, CDC said.

The project consists of 17 pool villas in Phase 1, followed by a 15-story mixed-use tower and two 12-story buildings.

Sangte affirmed the company’s commitment to align construction with market demand and evolving visitor preferences.

In 2025, CFZ served over 1.5 million overnight guests and 1.8 million same‑day visitors.

The JnH facility will expand CFZ’s 4,100-room inventory and boost the freeport’s role as a hub for tourism, property investment, as well as for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

“This is a story beset with challenges posed by the pandemic, which was totally unexpected. And yet, [JnH] stood fast and, with all their resources, decided that they should pursue,” Devanadera said. “We are giving our full support. The project is something that we are very proud of. Anything that ends well is always something that we treasure.”

CDC, established in 1993, is a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) which manages CFZ and the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ).
