KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — Malaysian men’s doubles combination of Choong Hon Jian-Muhammad Haikal Nazri crashed out in the second round of the Korean Open at the Suwon Gymnasium in Gyeonggi today.

The world number 47 Malaysians went down 17-21, 11-21 in just 36 minutes to former world champions Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi of Japan.

This is their third defeat by the world number 11 Japanese pair this year, having also lost in the Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Open.

Hoki-Kobayashi will cross swords with a South Korean pair in the quarter-finals, with it being either Lee Jong Min-Wang Chan or Kim Jae Hyeon-Lee Sang Wong. — Bernama
