Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) is supporting the R.A.C.E to Zero Regional Series 2026 — Sabah Edition as part of efforts to raise awareness of clean energy, sustainability and low-carbon development among Sabah’s business community.
KKCCCI President Datuk Michael Lui said businesses should strengthen their understanding of renewable energy and sustainability as these areas become increasingly relevant to long-term competitiveness and growth.
He said Sabah’s business community is operating in an increasingly dynamic economic and energy landscape, making it important for companies to understand developments associated with the transition towards cleaner energy.
“As the transition towards cleaner energy continues to gather momentum, businesses need to understand not only the challenges involved, but also the new opportunities that may emerge from this transformation.
“Greater awareness and preparedness will enable businesses to better position themselves for future developments, strengthen their resilience and remain competitive in an evolving economic environment,” he said.
KKCCCI is a Supporting Partner of the Sabah edition of R.A.C.E to Zero, a regional clean-energy platform aimed at accelerating Southeast Asia’s transition towards Net Zero.
The platform brings together policymakers, energy leaders, investors, utilities, technology providers and corporate energy buyers to exchange views on the region’s energy transition.
Discussions will cover policies, investment opportunities, clean-energy technologies, decarbonisation, renewable energy, energy storage and electrification, among other solutions required to support the transition.
Lui said KKCCCI encouraged its members, as well as the wider business community and industry stakeholders, to participate in the regional gathering and engage in discussions on the future of energy and sustainable development in Sabah.
Eligible Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) Professional Technologists (Ts.) and Certified Technicians (Tc.) attending the full conference will be entitled to three Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.
A Certificate of Attendance will also be issued for CPD claims.
The R.A.C.E to Zero Regional Series 2026 — Sabah Edition will be held at Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu Hotel on Sept 10.
Admission is free, with interested participants able to register online through the event’s registration platform or via the QR code provided by the organisers.
