Kota Kinabalu: The second phase of a feasibility study on the relocation of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to Kimanis, some 60km from here, has entered its final stages.
Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob, Chairman of Qhazanah Sabah Bhd (QSB) - the Sabah Government investment arm tasked to oversee the potential project - said an announcement would be made in time.
“We are still at a very early stage and it needs to be passed by the Cabinet first. Personally I think KK needs a new airport because when tourists return there will be a boom,” he said.
