RM1.2 million allocated for Rahmah Madani sales across eight Terengganu constituencies, offering festive goods at 10-30% discounts for Aidilfitri.

DUNGUN: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has allocated RM1.2 million for Rahmah Madani Sales programmes in Terengganu ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Terengganu KPDN director Mohd Mufsi Lat said the funding ensures essential goods are sold at reasonable prices during the statewide sales day on March 14.

Each of the eight participating parliamentary constituencies will receive RM150,000 from the total allocation.

The sales will be held in locations including Kampung Raja in Besut and Dataran Masjid Tok Jembal in Kuala Nerus.

Other venues are Kampung Losong, Kampung Pengadang Baru, Dewan Sivik Ajil, Dewan Arena Merdeka, and SMK Permai.

“Consumers will have the opportunity to purchase essential items such as meat, chicken, rice, spices and others at special discounts ranging from 10 to 30 per cent,” Mohd Mufsi said.

He added that the programme will feature strategic partners offering festive goods like traditional kuih, clothing, and accessories.

Traders at the Aidilfitri sales will not face stock limits on goods sold to ensure wider consumer access.

“Consumers in Terengganu are urged not to miss the opportunity to shop at the Aidilfitri PJRM to save on expenses,” he advised.

Mohd Mufsi spoke after visiting the Ramadan Bazaar in Paka, where he was joined by Petronas Dagangan Berhad senior manager Ali Azanullah M Razali.

PDB contributed 100 gas cylinders and aprons to traders at that bazaar.

The ministry is also running the MySaveFood Ramadan or IHSAN Food Bank programme statewide.

This initiative collects surplus food from eight Ramadan Bazaar locations from February 23 until March 13.
