Kota Kinabalu: The Plantation and Commodities Ministry (KPK) hopes Budget 2027, to be tabled in October, will prioritise strengthening the commodities industry and empowering smallholders nationwide.
Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said continued attention to the commodities sector was important to further strengthen the industry and provide greater benefits to smallholders.
“We certainly hope that emphasis will be placed on strengthening the commodities industry.
“We also hope the Government will consider empowering smallholders nationwide,” she told reporters after officiating the 2026 National Oil Palm Smallholders Conference (PKPKS 2026) here on Thursday.
