KUALA LUMPUR - Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will provide additional services for KTM Komuter and Electric Train Services (ETS) for three days starting July 31 to Aug 2 in conjunction with the Negeri Sembilan state election.
KTMB in a statement today announced that the initiative was implemented to accommodate the increased number of passengers, especially voters who want to return to Negeri Sembilan to fulfill their responsibilities on polling day, Aug 1, 2026.
According to the statement, a total of 18 additional KTM Komuter trips will be provided according to the weekday schedule on Friday (July 31), while another 18 trips will be provided according to the weekday schedule for the period Saturday and Sunday (Aug 1 to 2).
"This additional commuter service involves 10 trips on the Batu Caves-Pulau Sebang-Batu Caves route and eight trips on the Tanjung Malim-Port Klang-Tanjung Malim route.
"During the three days, KTMB provides a total capacity of 233,600 passengers, comprising 190,400 passengers through existing scheduled services and 43,200 passengers for additional train services," the statement said.
For ETS services, KTMB will provide 30 additional trips involving the KL Sentral-JB Sentral-KL Sentral routes (12 trips), JB Sentral-Seremban-JB Sentral (12 trips) and KL Sentral-Padang Besar-KL Sentral (six trips) with a total of 9,480 seats.
For the JB Sentral-Seremban-JB Sentral route, train EP9636 is scheduled to depart from JB Sentral on 2.10 pm and arrives in Seremban at 5.15 pm, while EP9637 departs from Seremban at 5.45 pm and arrives at JB Sentral at 8.50 pm.
Train EP9630 departs from JB Sentral at 6.15 am (arrives 9.20 am) and EP9633 departs from Seremban at 9.50 am (arrives 12.55 pm).
For the JB Sentral-KL Sentral-JB Sentral route, the departure time from JB Sentral is at 7.00 am via train EX9572 (arrives 11.10 am) and 5.30 pm for EX9578 (arrives 9.40 pm). Train EX9575 departs from KL Sentral at 11.55 am (arrives 4.05 pm) while EX9573 departs at 9.05 am (arrives 1.20 pm).
For the KL Sentral-Padang route Besar-KL Sentral, train EP9273 is scheduled to depart Padang Besar at 11.05 am and arrive at KL Sentral at 4.30 pm, while train EP9276 departs KL Sentral at 5.00 pm and arrives at Padang Besar at 10.20 pm.
Meanwhile, KTMB announced that works under the Klang Valley Electric Double Track Infrastructure Facilities Upgrading Project Phase 2 (KVDT2) on the affected route will be temporarily suspended for the three-day period to ensure smooth and safe train movement.
For KTM Komuter users on the Tanjung Malim-Port Klang route, they are advised to change trains at KL Sentral Station to continue their journey to Seremban Station and Pulau Sebang Station.
