A WOMAN gave birth on a Madani public bus in front of Jalan Masjid Health Clinic in Kuching yesterday.
Jalan Masjid Health Clinic, via a Facebook post, announced that the incident occurred around 5 pm, when the bus driver entered the clinic's parking area before informing the health staff about a pregnant woman who was about to give birth.
Several doctors and nurses then rushed into the bus to help the woman give birth safely.
The situation was calm, with doctors and several nurses successfully assisting the woman even though she was inside the bus.
The atmosphere became cheerful after the baby was safely born, and the Jalan Masjid Health Clinic staff also celebrated the birth.
The clinic announced that the incident is believed to be the first case of a woman giving birth on a Madani public bus since the clinic was introduced several years ago.
The woman and her baby were then referred to the Sarawak General Hospital for further treatment. - September 24, 2026
