KUNAK: The road surface along the main route of Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu, particularly in the Lormalong area starting at KM8, and the winding, sloping road between KM18 and KM29 (Bukit Baturong), is deteriorating and urgently needs repairs. This area is prone to frequent traffic accidents.

The worsening condition of the road, with potholes on both directions, poses a danger to road users, especially since this is a primary road connecting the east coast to Kota Kinabalu, heavily travelled daily.

“Repairs must be made immediately. The road maintenance concession and the Public Works Department (JKR) Kunak should take action to fix the potholes along this route,” he said, commenting on a social media post from the Facebook page “Orang Kunak” that highlighted the issue of potholes on Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu, which received a lot of responses from users.
