Real Madrid are still waiting to learn whether Kylian Mbappe will be fit in time for their Champions League round of 16 first leg against Manchester City on Wednesday, 11 March.
The French forward has been sidelined with a knee issue and remains a doubt for the crucial European clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.
While recovering, Mbappe has already missed three matches, and the next 48 hours are expected to determine whether he can return in time to face Pep Guardiola’s side.
Kylian Mbappe set for new medical tests ahead of Manchester City clash

Mbappe’s availability will depend on the condition of his left knee, which has been troubling him since an injury originally sustained on 7 December.
Mundo Deportivo claims the Real Madrid forward recently completed part of his rehabilitation in Paris, where he consulted knee specialist Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet as part of a conservative treatment plan.
The 27-year-old returned to Spain over the weekend and is scheduled to undergo further medical examinations at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex on Monday.
Those tests will determine whether he can begin training on the pitch again or if he must continue his recovery programme.
Real Madrid have been targeting the Champions League tie with Manchester City as Mbappe’s possible return date, although the club remain cautious about rushing him back before he is fully fit.
Real Madrid’s results without Kylian Mbappe
Mbappe has missed Real Madrid’s last three matches while continuing his recovery from the knee problem.
During that period the Spanish side have recorded two wins and one defeat, a La Liga fixture against Getafe.
His absence is significant given the impact he has had this season, with Mbappe currently Real Madrid’s top scorer after netting 38 goals in 33 matches across all competitions, according to SofaScore.
Los Blancos are also dealing with another major attacking setback after Rodrygo suffered a season-ending injury.
Amid such important absences in the squad, Real Madrid fans hope Vinicius Jr. can step up again as their main attacking threat. He scored six goals in his last seven games, but did not find the net in his last two matches.
