SIPITANG: Labuan Cops FC emerged champions of the Sipitang District Police Chief’s Cup 2025 8-Corner Invitational Football Carnival after edging Beaufort Cops FC 4-2 on penalties in the final at the District Council (MDS) Football Field, Sunday.

Both Labuan Cops FC and Beaufort Cops FC received a trophy and medals as champions and runners-up, respectively.

Penampang Cops FC beat Ranau Cops FC 2-1 to secure third place, with both teams also receiving medals.

Labuan’s Mohamad Nur Irfan Safwan was named Best Player while teammate Napper Rayner Lojimin took the Best Goalkeeper award. Beaufort’s Amirul Fadhli Shamsudin won the Top Scorer award. All received trophies.

The two-day tournament, which began on Aug 23, featured eight teams, namely Sipitang Cops FC, Beaufort Cops FC, Keningau Cops FC, Tenom Cops FC, Penampang Cops FC, Ranau Cops FC, Labuan Cops FC and Papar Cops FC.

The closing ceremony and prize presentation were officiated by Sipitang District Police Chief Supt. Awang Anak Suanda.

Also present were Labuan District Police Chief Supt. Mohd Hamizi Halim, Penampang District Police Chief Supt. Sammy Newton, Keningau District Police Chief Supt.

Yumpil Anak Garai, Tenom Deputy District Police Chief DSP Awang Mohd Sah Hj Arsad and Sipitang Safa Referees’ Chairman Jawi Hj Mohamad.
