LABUAN: The leading operator of Labuan-Menumbok roll on-roll off (ro-ro) ferry hailed the Government’s decision to shelve the multi-billion ringgit bridge plan saying it would otherwise spell doom for the ferry service.
“The bridge will inevitably cause job loss for scores, many of whom are sole bread winners, because it would have ended need for ferry services.
Equally affected would be those who had invested millions of ringgit in purchasing and upgrading ferries,” said Mainland Link Sdn Bhd Chairman Datuk Chin Hong Vui.
