Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party fully supports the return of Labuan to Sabah and efforts towards this aim.
Its President Datuk Chin Su Phin concurred that the inconvenience of immigration checks at the Labuan-Sabah border would become a thing of the past and that integration of Labuan infrastructure with mainland Sabah would bring tremendous economic benefits to both the island and mainland Sabah.
Earlier, SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee said with the additional RM2 billion in revenue in sales tax from oil and gas products and Sabah now getting back gas control rights and expected entitlement of 40pc of federal revenue collected from taxes in Sabah, the State would be in a better financial position to manage Labuan better than before.
