Lacson may visit Taguig after corruption-free flood control program

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson on Sunday said he may consider visiting Taguig City, the political bailiwick of Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, once the flood control program there is properly implemented and devoid of corruption.

Lacson said in jest that he does not want to drown in floodwaters as he has not practiced swimming recently.

But on a serious note, he recalled that a seven-year-old boy drowned in the city last July after being swept away by floodwaters.

"I may visit Taguig once the flood control program there is free of corruption. I haven't practiced swimming recently and I don't want to drown in floodwaters there. Lol," Lacson said in a social media post.

Lacson issued the statement after Cayetano, in one of his latest Facebook Live broadcasts, "invited" him to visit Taguig and personally see the infrastructure projects there.
