Lady Louise Windsor made a rare public appearance on Friday at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, where she's been working a proper paid job behind the scenes.

The 22-year-old, who is King Charles's niece, has taken on the role of chief organiser at the prestigious event, running a concierge service for attendees.

It's a position she's clearly relishing, having been spotted looking cheerful as she walked around the showground in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Event director Nick Brooks-Ward told Vanity Fair: "Lady Louise is one of the chief organisers, essentially operating a first concierge service."

Louise's parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, were also present at Friday's show, as well as King Charles III.

Sophie, 61, cut an effortlessly elegant figure in a £165 Jack Murphy waterproof Malvern coat layered over a brown Max Mara Dilly blazer, finishing the look with a £140 Lexi London Amy shirt featuring blue flower lace.

She completed her outfit with Adore Jewels diamond earrings, Yalea Carolina sunglasses and £259 Penelope Chilvers Cassidy cowboy boots.

Lady Louise, meanwhile, opted for a chic £179 Holland Cooper knit jumper, a piece also owned by the Princess of Wales.

The 22-year-old is currently wrapping up her English degree at the University of St Andrews, and she looked noticeably relaxed as she enjoyed the event.

The young royal was spotted sharing a laugh with her mother, Sophie, who plays a significant role at the annual show as Vice President.

Prince Edward serves as President of the event, with both parents known to pop in throughout the four-day occasion.

As Lady Louise isn't a working royal, appearances like this are quite uncommon, particularly after she missed recent family gatherings, including the Easter service.

Mr Brooks-Ward has been full of praise for the young royal's work ethic, describing her as "a great worker and a real asset to the team with no airs or graces."

He emphasised that Lady Louise receives no preferential treatment despite her royal connections, adding: "It's a proper paid job and there's no special treatment because of who she is."

Those who have worked alongside her echo similar sentiments, with event director Jo Peck calling her a "gentle soul" who is "bright as a button."

An insider revealed that Lady Louise actually requested the position herself, telling Hello!: "She is very grounded and down-to-earth, you wouldn't know she was a royal."

Lady Louise will also be taking part in the carriage driving competition later this week, participating in the Meet of the British Driving Society on the final day.

It's a passion close to her heart – she learned the skill from her late grandfather, Prince Philip, and the pair shared a deep bond over their love of the sport.

She famously drove his carriage during the 'Gallop Through History' at Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
