A POPULAR drama actress and her husband were remanded for three days by the Magistrate's Court in Seremban today to assist investigations into a fraudulent land sale case that resulted in a loss of RM1.5 million.
The couple were arrested at a tahfiz madrasah in Jalan Kuari Sungai Long, Batu 11, Kampung Sungai Serai, Hulu Langat, yesterday.
Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azahar Abdul Rahim, said the couple, aged in their 30s and 40s, were brought to court for a remand application after a police report was received regarding a fraud that occurred in the district.
He said the victim was a 56-year-old retired businessman in the property development sector.
According to Azahar, the complainant was offered several lots of land under the Cheras subdistrict, Selangor, which was promised as state government land, and had made several transactions totalling RM1.5 million through the bank accounts of the actress's husband and mother.
“This case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code,” he said.
Previously, the media reported that a beauty product entrepreneur claimed to have been a victim of fraud by a female actress and her husband, with losses reaching hundreds of thousands of ringgit.
A post on the Threads application claimed that the actress was ‘hiding’ after defrauding the victim of money.
According to the complainant using the Threads account kakbeyna_official, she lost RM300,000, while other victims were reported to have suffered larger losses of up to millions of ringgit.
The court granted a three-day remand for the couple to allow the police to conduct further investigations. – March 5, 2026
