BEAUFORT: A total of 819 residents in the district have received land titles covering nearly 2,000 hectares through two separate handover exercises by the State Government.
Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister and Klias Assemblyman Datuk Isnin Aliasnih said the handover reflected the State Government’s continued commitment to ensuring that eligible applicants obtained legal ownership of their land.
He said 247 land titles were presented during the latest handover, while another 572 were distributed earlier by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor during the closing ceremony of the Bagandang Festival.
“The District Land Action Committee (MTTD) meets four times a year to examine, review and monitor the progress of land applications.
“This is important to ensure that land titles can be issued in stages and that no eligible applicants are left out,” he said when met at the closing ceremony of the Beaufort District-level Bagandang Festival 2026.
Isnin said efforts to process and distribute land titles would continue to be intensified to give more local residents the opportunity to secure legal ownership and certainty over their land.
He also advised recipients to hold on to their land titles rather than sell them, describing the documents as valuable assets secured through the Government’s efforts for the benefit of the people.
“What is the point of selling it? It is a valuable asset that should be owned and preserved by the people for the benefit of future generations,” he said.
