ACEN Corp. on Monday said that Landco Pacific Corp. had signed a renewable energy supply deal with its retail electricity arm, ACEN RES, to power Landco’s Calatagan South Beach resort in Batangas.

ACEN, the clean energy arm of Ayala Corp., said that the agreement was facilitated through the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Option Program (GEOP), which allows eligible end-users with a minimum average monthly consumption of 100 kilowatts to directly choose their renewable energy supplier and shift their power supply to clean energy.

"This transition to 100 percent renewable energy is a significant milestone for us and aligns perfectly with our commitment to environmental stewardship,” Landco Pacific president and CEO Erickson Manzano said.

“By partnering with ACEN RES, we are not only ensuring a greener operation for our resort but also offering our guests a truly sustainable and responsible leisure experience," he added.

ACEN RES Vice President Sheila Mina said Calatagan South Beach's transition to 100 percent clean energy was part of a "growing awareness among major leisure destinations to embrace sustainability."

ACEN Corp.'s share price edged lower by P0.06 to close at P2.59 per share on Monday.
