Kota Kinabalu: A landslide hit the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) Gaya Campus here on Monday evening, damaging infrastructure but causing no injuries.

According to the Civil Defence Force (APM) Kota Kinabalu, they received a call at 7.40pm from a teacher who reported soil movement behind Block E, a building no longer occupied by students.

A five-member team was dispatched and arrived at the site at 8.10pm. Their inspection confirmed damage to a covered walkway, a water tank pipeline and the pump house, which disrupted water supply to the campus.

APM said its personnel advised staff to remain vigilant and to move to a safer area if further landslides occur.

No casualties were reported, and classes at the campus have temporarily been shifted online, according to local updates.
