In the latest episode of Malaysia's political soap opera, Langkah Dubai, a plot seemingly straight out of a blockbuster movie has unfolded. Because, let's face it, nothing screams transparency and good governance like secret meetings during exotic vacations.

PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Hashim Jasin assures us that they are completely unaware of such schemes, implying that their party would only consider toppling the government if it comes gift-wrapped with societal benefits.

How noble! It's heartwarming to know that political upheavals are only on the agenda if they somehow improve the lives of the common folk.

Bersatu's Tasek Gelugor MP, Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, offers profound advice, suggesting that instead of fretting about potential threats, the government should focus on steering the country.

A revolutionary idea, indeed. Perhaps the secret Langkah Dubai meeting minutes include a note saying, “Let's throw the government off course while pretending we're doing the opposite.”

Bersatu Youth Chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal dismisses the rumours as a desperate move by the opposition. According to him, the government is too busy heroically dealing with floods and has no time for such trivial matters.

It's reassuring to see priorities in order, especially when diesel subsidies and tax implementations are set to kick in next year.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam adds a cinematic twist by implicating former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the ever-controversial Tun Daim Zainuddin.

Allegedly, Daim is ready to throw around hundreds of millions of ringgit to "buy over" government MPs.

The drama unfolds, complete with corruption investigations, backdoor government scenarios, and a sprinkle of vacation intrigue.

Meanwhile, J-Kom Deputy Director-General Datuk Ismail Yusop dropped the bomb that Langkah Dubai was conceived during a luxurious vacation to the United Arab Emirates.

What better way to plan the overthrow of a government than under the sun in Dubai?

In the grand theatre of Malaysian politics, Langkah Dubai deserves an Oscar for its screenplay.

The script features oblivious party members, sagacious advice on governance, and a plot twist involving bags of money.

Move over Hollywood; Malaysia's political drama is stealing the show.

Happy 2024 folks!
