Kota Kinabalu: A grandson of the late Tun Datu Mustapha was ordered jailed for a year and fined RM3.000 for stealing his mother’s luxury watch.

Datu Anwar Datu Amirkahar pleaded guilty before a magistrate to disposing of the luxury watch belonging to Datuk Mary E Dumpangol @ Aminah Ambrose in May at a goldsmith in Sinsuran, here..

The 43-year-old e-hailing driver had sold the Rolex White watch for RM9,000.

Anwar had asked for leniency and requested only to pay a fine saying it was his first offence and that he had dependents.

Mustapha was a Head of State and Chief Minister of Sabah.
