Kota Kinabalu: Lawyers representing the mother of the late Zara Qairina clarified that viral bank account numbers linked to their client were misleading.
They said she is neither collecting donations for herself nor to cover legal fees.
They said the accounts were previously used to receive public contributions shortly after Zara’s death, but have since been closed.
“Any future donations would only be accepted in person by our client or through an authorised NGO.
“Our services are provided pro bono,” Hamid Ismail, Shahlan Jufri, Rizwandean M Borhan, Mohd Luqman Syazwan Zabidi, Mohd Syarulnizam Mohd Salleh and Farrah Nasser said in a joint statement.
