All’s not well within the Lee clan as national shuttler and world #56 Lee Zii Jia has filed a High Court interim injunction against family members.
In a report by NST, this move was to prevent his father and sister from making certain financial and management decisions at LZJ Management while a legal dispute is pending.
According to the summons filed on July 2, 2026, Zii Jia’s father, Lee Chee Hin, sister Lee Zii Yii, younger brother Lee Tao and LZJ Management were named as respondents.

What injunction seeks to limit
In the injunction, Zii Jia is looking to prevent his dad and sister, who are company directors at LZJ Management, from approving directors’ fees, allowances, bonuses or other financial benefits for themselves beyond their monthly salaries.
He is also looking to restrict decisions on the appointment and removal of directors, the appointment of a company secretary, major asset disposals, new share issuances and changes to the company’s shareholding structure without court approval.
90% of LZJ Management is reportedly owned by Zii Jia, while Zii Yii and Lee Tao own 9% and 1% respectively.
Zii Jia has also sought a court order to convene an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to address the company’s management and governance.

In his supporting affidavit, Zii Jia claimed he tried to hold an EGM on Dec 22, 2025, but failed due to a lack of quorum.
As such, he now wants the EGM to be held within 14 days of the court order or within another period determined by the court.
On top of that, Zii Jia also requested permission to issue and serve the meeting notice and appoint an independent chairman.
However, the application is being contested by the respondents, with Chee Hin stating in an affidavit in reply filed on Aug 6 there was no need for the court to step in as LZJ Management had always managed matters relating to his son’s professional badminton career.
