Leeds boss Jesse Marsch says their tour of Australia has been a positive exercise.
Marsch was speaking after their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in Perth.
He said, "It was a good few days here, it was a good finish to the tour. It started by meeting the Premier and everyone has made us feel welcome. The idea of Leeds coming here to play in front of our fans was really special for all of us. I was pleased with the match tonight.
"I think I was surprised in Gold Coast first but it's incredible, it became almost expected. The people have been supportive and to be here and have open training sessions and have our guys stick around after training to sign autographs, it's been special for everyone."
Marsch also said: "For me tonight was one of our best games interms of tactical clarity. The level the game is played at is so high that goals come at a premium. We have work to do. The additions have brought a lot. There is a real sense of optimism inside the team right now. I feel like it's been effective but there's so much work to do.
"I've never come out of pre-season and into the season feeling ready, it's an ongoing process, that's the reality."
