Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani can see an upside on missing out on Charles de Ketelaere.

De Ketelaere was all set to be sold by Club Brugge to Leeds before AC Milan stepped in to sign the attacker this week.

Radrizzani, however, told TMW: "He was our icing on the cake, the special player, but we were competing with Milan. They won the title, they have the Champions League. The fact that he watched our documentary and was undecided between Milan and Leeds for a period of time makes me proud that we are in the right direction.

"Maybe I should have gone to Belgium ten days earlier to close the deal. There was a time when I knew AC Milan were hesitating due to the change of ownership and I hesitated. We were in agreement with Bruges for 40 million euros."
