Leeds United are expected to step up plans for RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams.

The Whites have been targeting Adams as a potential replacement for the outgoing Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips is on the brink of signing for Manchester City.

USA midfielder Adams has worked with manager Jesse Marsch both at New York Red Bulls and Leipzig, and would therefore appear to be the ideal candidate to fill that midfield role.

Adams has been as US international since 2017, and is highly regarded in Germany, especially after scoring the winning goal for Leipzig in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2020, knocking out Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
