The camp was organised as per the directions of the Member Secretary, HALSA.

The programme was attended by Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), District Courts, Panchkula, and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Panchkula. Addressing students and faculty members on the occasion, CJM Ghanghas delivered a detailed lecture on the importance of International Technology Day and highlighted the role of technology in the modern legal system. He informed students that technology had transformed the functioning of courts, legal institutions and public services by making justice delivery faster, transparent and more accessible to common citizens.

During the programme, CJM Ghanghas interacted with students and encouraged them to make positive and responsible use of technology in legal education and social awareness activities.

A question-answer session was also organised during the camp wherein students actively participated. CJM Ghanghas and Secretary, DLSA, Panchkula, asked various questions regarding International Technology Day and students responded enthusiastically. The interaction made the programme informative as well as engaging for the participants.

Resource person Rajat Handa, panel advocate, DLSA Panchkula, also delivered a lecture on the International Technology Day. He explained the importance of digital literacy and technological advancement in today’s society. He further informed students about the use of online legal services, e-courts and digital platforms for legal awareness and justice delivery.

During the camp, the CJM was welcomed by the head of the Law Department and students of Swami Devi Dyal Law College, Barwala. Faculty members and students appreciated the efforts of the DLSA, Panchkula, for organising such useful legal awareness programme.

The CJM also informed students regarding the special Lok Adalats being organised by the Supreme Court of India and about the “Samadhan Samaroh” initiative. He further said that special Lok Adalats regarding cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act would be held on May 30 and July 18 at the District Courts Complex, Panchkula. He advised law students to spread awareness among the general public regarding Samadhan Samaroh and special Lok Adalats so that litigants could take benefit of the settlement through mediation and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
