Leicester City are doing everything to try and extend the contract of James Maddison.
The attacking midfielder is wanted by Newcastle United and other clubs in the summer.
However, Leicester will make Maddison their best paid player ever if he agrees to sign a new, long term deal.
Manager Brendan Rodgers recently admitted the club was not sure if it could hold onto Maddison if he does not renew his contract.
The attacker may want a chance to play European football and challenge for trophies, which looks like it will be possible at Newcastle.
The 26-year-old has scored nine goals and managed five assists in 16 league games this term.
