Perak Umno chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said their reaction has an impact on the party.
"We should decide how to interact or respond to the decision," he said, further advising Umno members to behave well.
“I advice Umno members, me included to behave," he told reporters after a groundbreaking ceremony Lahat Eco City Housing Project near here, today.
He was referring to decision made by Umno divisions chiefs over not contesting the top two posts - Umno president and his deputies post.
Saarani, the Perak Menteri Besar said the decision made on the last day of the 2022 Umno General Assembly needs to be respected and followed.
"It means that after the decision is made, it is not a matter of which story is better, which is worse. We have to behave according to the party's decision," he said.
