Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick has retired from the Czech national team following their World Cup exit.

The 30-year-old announced his decision on Instagram on Thursday, a day after his side finished bottom of Group A with one point from three games.

"Today my chapter with the national team has come to an end," he wrote. "This is not an impulsive decision."

He scored 26 goals in 56 appearances during 10 years in the Czech squad.
