Lewis family injects another £120 million into Tottenham amid on-field struggles

  • Tottenham Hotspur have received an additional £120m in capital funding from the Lewis family, taking their total investment in the club to around £320m over the past 12 months.
  • The Lewis family runs Spurs' majority owner Enic and has taken on greater influence over key decisions since Daniel Levy stepped down as executive chairman last September.
  • Daniel Levy's stake in Tottenham could be further diluted to approximately 25 per cent if he chooses not to contribute proportionally to this latest injection, having previously seen his holding fall to 27 per cent.
  • The fresh financial backing follows a summer transfer window where Tottenham spent more than £300m on new talent, twice breaking their transfer record with the signings of Mateus Fernandes for £85m and Sandro Tonali for £100m.
  • Despite the substantial spending, Tottenham are yet to score a goal or win a match in their opening four Premier League fixtures and were recently eliminated from the Carabao Cup following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.
