Liam Gallagher has sparked excitement among fans after appearing to confirm that a new Oasis album is on the way.
The singer is known for regularly teasing followers on social media regarding potential updates about the band.
This week, a fan posted on X: "Oasis have SEVEN great albums and those songs with LIVE FOREVER."
Gallagher chimed in to reply: "8 including the new 1, I mean happy birthday. (sic)"
The comment follows previous remarks by the frontman, who indicated that additional concert dates could follow the Oasis Live '27 tour, provided the group write fresh material.
He explained to a user on X: "Listen, if all goes well with the tour, I guess next step is to have a chat about new music. Can’t see us touring again unless we have new music."

Supporters have spent years calling for the group to release new songs.
Gallagher seems to have experienced a change of heart regarding studio work alongside his brother Noel, having previously confessed that the pressure of matching their era-defining 1990s output would be "too much".
In response to a fan on X who urged them to make a new record, Gallagher previously replied: "NO I’m just not prepared for the criticism if it doesn’t sell 100 million copies in the 1st hour cure bad breath and constipation for the nation if it doesn’t turn back time for Cher and some other s**t let’s just do some gigs and be happy thank you (sic)."
Tracks such as “Wonderwall”, “Don't Look Backin Anger” and “Champagne Supernova” were not merely successful singles, but cultural milestones that helped define a generation. When another follower suggested the group could tour indefinitely without writing anything new, Gallagher agreed, suggesting that expectations for new songs would be impossible to satisfy and joking that the group would "split up again" if they attempted it.
The band's final studio record, Dig Out Your Soul, was released in 2008. Oasis split the following year after a backstage dispute between the brothers, who reconciled last year to announce their reunion for the Oasis Live ’25 tour.

The group are scheduled to play a record six nights at Knebworth next year, after four additional dates were added to the 2027 tour due to high demand.
The extra performances include two shows at Knebworth House on September 25 and 26, bringing the total there to six, along with dates at Rome Olympic Stadium on July 26 and Munich’s Allianz Arena on July 6.
Their six-night run at Knebworth – the venue of their famous 1996 performances – will set a record for the most dates played at the estate, surpassing the three shows performed there by Robbie Williams in August 2003.
